Cloud Systems Engineering blog

In 1951 the world’s first commercially produced computer UNIVAC took up 15,000 feet, was programmed by 6,000 switches, and employed 17,000 vacuum tubes! Now in 2018 Cloud computing enables a company run without a visible server or a computer!

What is this Cloud computing- the magic of invisible? Cloud computing permits omnipresent access to shared resources and services using a network of remote servers hosted on the Internet. It requires negligible management effort, and sharing resources help to achieve economies of scale. For example, even theprivate computer users are familiarwith Google Docs, Xdrive, MediaMax etc. With cloud computing, users access files and use applications from any device that can access the Internet.

So it is predictable that the magic of Cloud computing will spellbound the world. Cloud has become the catalyst for innovation, efficiency, and savings for companies around the globe. With the enormous data that is producing every day, Cloud computing is no longer an option, a necessity.

People with keen interest in IT can take the advantage of this growth and expand their skill set by adding cloud computing skills to the resume. There are plenty of cloud certification programs such as Amazon’s AWS certification, Google’s GCPCA, Microsoft’s Azure, OpenStack and other general certification programs that can help a person to get cloud computing jobs.

DevOps Engineering offers a broad set of services that help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale applications. Amazon Web Services (AWS) continues to be one of the hottest areas of cloud computing. Individuals who have the expertise in OpenStack cloud platform are in demand as well.

The average Cloud Engineer salary in Canada is$123,846 per year;this is around 3.8 times more than the Median wage of the country. No doubt this is a lucrative profession but in the downside cloud computing is relatively new technology and going through changes every single day.  Self-taught candidates will be leading the industry with expertise on latest technological trends in the cloud computing space.
